Education
Ireland's long and honourable tradition in educational excellence is recognised the world over. Dating back to the Middle Ages, Ireland held the position as one of the principal education providers to the western world. Successive modern governments have continued to regard education as a key priority and investment in this area has been sustained for a long time. This has resulted in one of the highest education participation rates in the world today, which, in turn, has had positive implications for the strong economic growth and development of Ireland.

Why Study in Ireland?
Ireland is an English speaking country, is safe and welcoming, and has one of the best education systems in the world according to the independent IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2009 (ranks 8th). Ireland has a young vibrant population, with 36% of the population under the age of 25, Ireland is one of the most exciting places in the world to be a student.
Educational Cooperation:
Many Irish and Chinese state and educational institutions are forging links to the benefit of students studying at all levels both in Ireland and in China. China's Fudan University has for almost a decade now run co-operative programmes with the School of Computer Science and Informatics at University College Dublin and the Law School at Trinity College Dublin.
Athlone Institute of Technology recently signed an agreement with a Beijing Union University that will enable students from AIT to go to Beijing for short study periods. The agreement also allows for faculty visits between both institutions, for collaboration in research and teaching in areas of mutual interest, and for BUU students to study in Athlone.
